I have been busy doing many things these past 2 weeks. I have spent time in the sewing room, have helped others strip the wallpaper off the parsonage dining room walls, [which is NOT fun!!], among many other things.

The work in the sewing room has produced many postcards which I will post pictures later, some coasters and a table runner for the church bazaar, [which was yesterday], and some tidying up. Dennis has finished my new cabinet, and it has been placed in the sewing room. I will get a picture and post it. But, I love it!! Now, I must finish purging things that does not fit in the room!!! And, I have more postcards to make and get in the mail. And, I have decided to use flannel as batting in Gina's king-sized string quilt, so I need to get that done and out of here.

With this week being Holy Week, next week being vacation, and tax day being April15th, I am thinking my schedule will be very full this week because I want the taxes done before we leave for vacation. So, that means lots of receipts to be working through this week! YUCK!! I tell myself every year, that I won't be doing this next year, but every year it happens. I need to find a new system and stick with it!! Any ideas anyone??

OK... I am going to bed... so I will be ready for tomorrow!

Today was a misty rain day... I didn't get to watch the news tonight to see if the weather was going to change anytime soon, though, back to the sunny days of last week would be nice!

Didn't make it to the sewing room over the weekend or today for that matter. Today was filled with a funeral for a friend, banking, a few errands, then home to crash on the couch till dinner. With dinner over now, I am really considering going to bed early. I feel just worn out.

I have been getting the beautiful little gems (fabric postcards) from my online swap group... the ones I am getting puts the ones I sent out to shame!! These ladies obviously have been making them much longer than I have been, and their cards show it! I will take pictures this week, and get my postcard gallery updated. Wait till you see them... I really love them all!

Dennis got his Pastor's office carpeted on Saturday, and all the items from his office were packed in the kitchen. The office items are slowly making their way back to the office... I'll be glad when I can actually see my table-top again and be able to set in the kitchen chairs. Saturday is work day here at the parsonage... I will have helpers coming to finish with the stripping of the wall paper off the dining room walls, and some of the guys will be tearing up and replacing some of the laminate flooring that was damaged when the dishwasher decided to leak everywhere a few weeks ago. I am happy to say, the dishwasher has been replaced with a new one, and things should be back in order by Holy Week. Maybe I can even get the dining room painted by then, too! Won't that be nice.

OK... I am going to call it a day. Thanks for checking in with me!

First, I must apologize for my lack of communication lately. I was doing pretty good there for a while, but then, I am not sure what happened that I have failed again!

The snow is melting. Last week the temps were up in the high 50's to lower 60's! I was outside in a t-shirt & capri's! I am loving it! Though, I do love the snow, I also love the springtime. Actually, I love all the seasons. Maybe, that is why I enjoy living in PA! We are in a rainy spell now, but, that too shall pass.

I have been busy in my sewing room, finishing up charity quilts. I have about 7 of them down to the hand-stitching (binding & label) stage. I am happy because some of these have been laying around since December 2008!! A friend of mine helps me out doing the handwork, which her help is always appreciated! These will be delivered to the local Cancer Center.

I will be busy sewing for the next few weeks... there is the church bazaar and a baby shower coming up... not to mention, I am in the mood to make something JUST FOR ME!!! I did go to the quilt shop last week and picked out some fabrics that I liked. With not having a pattern in mind, I just bought 3 yards of each of the 4 colors (Thimbleberries). I do hope that will be enough. Though, I don't want to wait until the year 2015 to get started on it! I want it done this year... actually, now would be good. I have been going through my recent quilt magazines, picking something from each one that I like. I have found a few quilts, a wall hanging and a table runner that really catches my eye. I am definitely in the mood for sewing lately. Maybe because of my lack of being able to sew last year. I was so busy with family issues, etc... now, that I have time to sew seems like a breath of fresh air!

I am thinking ahead of my sewing projects to come... the guild challenge, which the theme is 'baskets' this year. This project is due in early August. Again, I went through my magazines, and found a nice table runner. I am anxious to get busy on it. Then, thinking of what I am going to enter in the county fair, I have picked out a few more things... I will be busy, for sure. But, this is a good busy to me.

Well, Cody (our 4 year old grandson), just woke from his afternoon nap so I better get off of the computer. He loves my undivided attention, and I love to give it to him.

Have a great day to all!

Hello All... Dennis is gone for the day... he is actually working on a new cabinet for my sewing room! I am so happy. That has been on the honey-do list for 5 years now! But, he has been busy himself, with seminary schoolwork, and 4 churches, so I guess I'll cut him a break! But, I am excited now that is is getting worked on! I am tired of my sewing room being cluttered, and am hoping this will help out! When he is done, I will post pictures, but only AFTER I clean up a bit!

We will not have Cody today... :-(  ... but he will be here on Sunday as it is Dennis' birthday, and I will be hosting a family lunch and party. I love it when family is together!!

Well... I am burning daylight setting here on the computer, when I could be in my sewing room playing and sewing my heart out!! So, I am going to get to it!!

Have a great stitching day to all you quilters!! And, for those who aren't quilters... Have a great day doing whatever it is you like to do!!
