I added the latest of Fabric Postcards I made and also the ones I have received. My Goodness!! I have been so busy with those so far this year, that I really haven't taken time to sew much else! Although I love those little mail treasures, I think I am going to cut way back on the swapping for a while!

I have also added another page to my website, entitled "My Sewing Room". You will find it in the drop-down thumbnails under 'MORE'. There, you will see the cabinet that Dennis (my hubby) made for me. I also took pictures around my room, to show you how I have things set up. The room is small, but sufficient enough for me at this time.

OK... I am wasting sewing time, being here on the computer... I

This month, as well as every other month the has preceded it, has went by extra fast for me. I remember as a kid, my parents telling me time goes by faster when you get older... does that mean I am getting older now?? I don't think I am older at all... my philosophy is that the kids are just catching up to me. But, with Easter, vacation, home projects, etc., this month has crept silently by me.

The weather has been a bit on the nippy side... OK, I'll just say it has been downright COLD!! When the warmer weather returns, I'll be ready & waiting!!!

I have been enjoying the spring flowers and watching all the hard-working birds, gathering supplies for their nests. There were robins, building a nest on the neck of the downspout at the church... I was watching Mr. & Mrs. Robin's progress everyday. But, unfortunately, someone else (the maintenence guy probably), spotted it over the weekend and knocked it down. I am hoping there weren't any eggs in it yet.

Cody is coming this weekend... can't wait for that. I am sure he'll want to play Parcheesi again. I taught him that game last time he was here and he loved it. I figured it was  a good game because it involved counting, etc. He beat me, and that really made his day!!

I have been in the sewing room, making fabric postcards for my online group. I love these little things! And, since I cleaned out my sewing room, I am enjoying being in there much more than I did before! I can actually move from one area to another, without stepping on or over other items. And, I can walk right up to my book shelf to get whatever book I want. No reaching, no stretching... I am loving that!! I know I keep promising to post a picture of my new cabinet that Dennis made for me. I will take the camera upstairs with me tonight and snap that. Then, I'll post it tomorrow.

I am going to play in my sewing room all day tomorrow, or at least as much as I possibly can. Hopefully, I can finish a few projects that are in the end-stage.

Goodnight for now...

I went and watched our grandson (age 4) at his soccer practice tonight... it was so cute to see them all play. They really try their hardest to do what they are told. Cody  loves it!!

Didn't get to the sewing room today, but I did make it to the paint store for the paint for my dining room. I even picked out a border. I was going to do the 2-color, like wainscoting with dark blue on the bottom and tan on top, but switched to complete tan walls, with burgundy trim and the wide border at chair rail height. I went with the burgundy because that is one of the colors in the kitchen which connects. I can't wait to get my dining room back in order... this project has been going on for quite a while now... I am soooooooo ready for it to be over! All my wall decorations (quilt rack/shelf, sconces and shelves)  are in dark blue. The dining room is my 'Americana' room.

The sun has been shining, but the temps are a little chilly, especially in the shade. But, this is Spring... and I love it! Flowers are blooming around the house and I am really getting the urge to get my hands in the dirt to plant. But, it is way too early for that in our neck of the woods. They would freeze for sure. All the landscaping I did last year is looking good. I do need to go clean out more leaves from the flower beds that blow in from the neighbors trees. And, I must have at least a million maple seedlings starting all over the flower beds! Geez!! I have already pulled a bunch of them, and have many more to go!

Well, I am

This project has been a long time coming, but, I am actually getting excited that we are nearing the end! I will be happy to get this part of the house back in order again!

Then, there is the sewing room. Dennis did make that cabinet and it is in the sewing room being very used! I  LOVE IT! No, I haven't taken pictures yet, I really should now because I have thrown out a lot of things that were in the sewing room, into the upstairs hallway. So, you can actually see the cabinet, the floor, and I can actually stand in front of the shelf that holds all of my quilting books. Before, I had to basically climb over & step on the things that were piled in front of this particular shelf! I am really liking my cleaned-out sewing room. It is much more pleasant to be in there now. I am sorting through the items in the upstairs hallway... making a space for it in the sewing room... but, I am also making a box of things to mail to an online quilt friend that will make or use what I send for charity quilts. She is a whiz... so I know whatever I send her, WILL be put to good use! I have also sorted out some books and will be giving those away, too. It is nice to be doing some spring cleaning of sorts.

I am going to close for now. It has been a long day. I will try to get those pictures posted that I have been promising lately... where does the time go?? I still wonder... Where did I ever find time before to work a full-time job??? Lol

The Lenten and Easter season is always so busy for us clergy folks, and that is preceded by a very busy Advent & Christmas, so, come the day after Easter, we head on vacation!! And, it is always a very welcomed vacation for us!!

We went camping in a cabin at one of the local State Parks. The cabins have heat & electricity, so it is really very nice! I read 2-1/2 books, and worked on 3 quilt projects while there. Hubby went for hikes on the trails, until he blew out his knee on one of his treks. He is not sure what he did, but it swelled up like a baseball, and bruised badly. The bruising has traveled down his leg since that event. He went to the dr. yesterday, and even the dr. is baffled as to what went on with it. Hubby can walk on his leg, etc... only hurts if he presses where it was swollen... Anyway, I took a quilt to start, but was undecided on the pattern to use, so, I put that particular project aside, and worked on another quilt I have in progress. I did a wall hanging, and a octagonal table quilt, too. Now, to get those layered and quilted. I can say, that it was a very productive week.

The weather was a little crazy... for several days, it was beautiful... sunny & warm! Then Friday, we set around the campfire, sipping hot chocolate while it snowed! But, this is typical PA April weather...

Cody came to camp on Thursday night, after his soccer practice. He stayed till Saturday night and had a wonderful time... other than ending up with a head cold. I think he got that doing his soccer practice in the rain, and then the change of weather on Friday. But, hopefully he will recover soon and it won't develop into anything more with his asthma, etc.

I'll check in again soon, hopefully, with some postcard pictures, and the quilty projects, too. In the past 2 months, I have done a lot of the postcards swaps... Spring, Easter, Butterflies, flowers, etc... I have a lot of pictures to post!

Till we chat again... I hope all of you have a great day!!!
