The sentiment is the same, even though it is a couple of days late! I hope all of you had a very blessed Christmas with your family & friends. After church, we went to & spent Christmas Eve at our daughters house, so that we'd be there to watch our grandson open his treasures on Christmas morning. Jennifer made a wonderful brunch for all. We then spent the day vegging out, and watching movies, our usual tradition for the day. That way, Cody had the day to play with all his toys, etc. Later that afternoon, we got ready and went to Grandma's (Dennis' Mom's) house... then home. It was a grand day, indeed!

Today, I am cooking for some family members... I am looking forward to an afternoon of visiting and catching up with everyone. Probably another lazy day following lunch... but, that is alright with me!

Dennis' Uncle passed away on the 23rd... his funeral is tomorrow afternoon. Dennis is doing the service. His uncle has been sick for a long time... so he is finally at peace. And, what a wonderful Christmas Uncle Glen had... spending the day with our Lord! Can't get any better than that! I can rejoice for my Mom, too! She also, spent the day with the Lord. The first Christmas since she passed away in September... yeah... I had my melt-down moments on Christmas morning missing her & remembering that we have been together every Christmas morning/day since I moved here in 1975. Yeah... I miss my Mom.

So this week, we get to gear up for New Year's Eve!! We have invites to 2 friends homes... so, we will probably make the rounds to both throughout the evening. Though, we probably will be sleeping by mid-night... but, then again, there will be some in the neighborhood who will be out shooting their shotguns and most likely firecrackers at mid-night, so, on second thought, we won't be sleeping after all!

Have a great day!!

I am not sure if I will make the deadline of Christmas... I am doing a count-down list of 10 things... I am on #8, which is a quilt I am finishing for my friend, Chelsea.. In the morning, I will hand-stitch the binding, and it will be done.  She was making 3 of them and felt a little rushed to do them all by Christmas, and she asked for my help. She was down to the binding on all of them, and she finished one today. Chelsea was one of the kids in my Sunday School class when I taught at our home church. She is now in college, studying to become a nurse. I couldn't say no when she called and asked me for help, even though, I definitely have enough to do on my own. What we won't do for those we love...

I still have to wrap gifts, and deliver Pop's gift to him tomorrow at the personal care home. They will put it under the tree there for Christmas morning. Thank God my cleaning lady comes tomorrow, that takes one BIG thing off my list! I want to take some time for myself tomorrow, maybe stop in at one of the local quilt shops to say hello & wish all my friends there a Merry Christmas.

I have to check in the morning on Dennis' gifts... I have to refresh my mind on what I got him! I may have to go to JCPenneys to get some clothes for him. He needs some new khakis'. Otherwise, everyone is done. Scott wants a recipe book, filled with my recipes! Though, at this late date, he will not get it by Christmas... as he lives in Oregon. I feel bad that I didn't get it to him on time... but, I did get a large box of my cookies mailed... He'll pick those up tomorrow at the Post Office. That should hold him over!

OK... it is late... actually early... 12:40 AM... I think I'll make a cup of tea and hit the stairs! It's going to be a busy day tomorrow!

The snowstorm brushed past us, giving us about 6-8 inches. I wish we would have gotten some more, but, those south and east of us got that. It has been  many years since we have really been dumped on... that is what I am waiting for!

We had Cody all weekend, he'll go home after church tomorrow. I am not sure if he will nap here, or if Jennifer & Jon will take him home to do that... either way, we enjoyed the little guy, AS ALWAYS! I had him out in the snow twice today... he enjoyed it so much. He is definitely an outdoor boy. Once you get him outside, it is hard to get him back inside! Papa even went out this morning to the local Dollar Store and bought him a blue sled... (Blue being Cody's favorite color!) Though, we really do not have sledding hills here at the parsonage, Cody enjoyed going down the driveway. It is good enough for a 4 year old!

I am tired, so will turn in now. I hope to get some sewing in tomorrow afternoon... still have a charity quilt (blocks) laying on the floor, (which Cody plays 'hop-scotch' on them), and some Christmas presents to do. I know... Christmas is here in just 6 days!

Goodnight ALL!!

The real rush is on now... Time to finish up all those lose ends on Christmas presents, decorating, baking, wrapping, etc... Yes, and even sewing up those needed Christmas presents. I have been procrastinating... thinking, 'I still have time'... but, the time is closing in.

I have been working on a PIG project that I got in the mail. The design I made is good on paper, but is not working out in the real world. I'll have to do a little adjustment, then I think it will be beautiful! I'll post pictures when I am done. I want to machine quilt it on my DSM, also. I need practice, practice, practice! That way, I can do my own instead of paying a long arm machinist to do it. Though, I'll let her do the more special ones until I get better at it!

OK... have to go rest my back. I have been baking cookies this afternoon. And, that wears me out!

Have a great day!

Am I ready??? NOT!!! I still have sewing to do... yes, I have been procrastinating a bit, but I have just been busy with other things, too. I really need to make the effort to get into the sewing room THIS WEEK! I need to bake some cookies today and get them in the mail to Oregon! Scott is patiently (probably more like, Impatiently), waiting for them. I have sent him some already, but they do not last long once they reach him! He loves my cookies!

I am not sure what the weather holds for us this week... I have heard different reports from others. I have yet to watch the news... we are going to get whatever God sends, so what is the point? The weathermen/women, aren't always right...

I have been working on my fabric postcards. I have sent out about 7 in the last couple of weeks... today, will make it 8. I love doing these... not to mention, I LOVE getting them! They are such nice little surprises in my mail box! I have taken pictures, but keep forgetting to bring my camera down from the sewing room to upload them on the computer. I'll get to it eventually!

We took Cody to see Santa on Friday night... I'll post that picture below

Gotta go... got things to do. I hope all of you reading this has a great day and even a better week! Merry Christmas!

My last blog posting told about the strange weather patterns we had been having. But, today, the temps are around low 20's, with a wind chill factor of about the single digits! BRR!! It's the kind of wind that just cuts right through you! The ind I dislike! And, now with the sun setting, those temperatures will drop even more. We have a Christmas dinner to attend tonight, though, I'd much rather be staying inside my house, under a quilt or two, we must venture out once again! I will definitely be dressing very warmly... several layers and probably heavy socks with my dress shoes! I will probably sweat to death over dinner! But, at least I'll be warm!

We are going Christmas shopping tomorrow afternoon. I have been scouring for store coupons and sales... I have in mind what I want for the kids & Dennis. I really should write it down because we'll have Cody with us, and that will have my mind on other things! Papa will take him for a walk if I find presents for him. We will take him out for dinner... he always loves going to the restaurant to eat! Me too! I don't have to cook or do clean-up afterward!

Well, better go & get ready for dinner tonight... it is snowing here now, and looks pretty fierce outside!

We have had quite the weather mix over the past 24 hours! Yesterday, started out with the cloudy skies, than came the snowstorm that has been sweeping across the nation. With it, we had snow & sleet. This morning, we awoke to an ice covered scenery. As the day has progressed, the temperatures have risen to the 40's, and then we had a light rain with thunder & lightening. Now, the sun is out... are you sure this is December 9th?????

I set down today and did the Christmas cards. Dennis will take them to the post office here in a bit. I don't want to be out walking on the snow/ice... can't afford a fall with my back.

So, little by little, the Christmas preparations are getting done. I still have to devote a day to sewing of the needed Christmas presents. I did sign up for several recent postcard swaps with my online groups. I am happy to say, those are done & sent out already. Several were going over seas... 2 to Finland, and one to Australia. Wow, wouldn't it be nice to put a stamp on my forehead and tag along with them!!

OK... going to close for now. I hope everyone's Christmas plans are coming together!

Keep Christ in Christmas... He is the Reason for the Season!

I am excited to see what we get tonight & tomorrow! Though, I am not excited to get the ice... I'd rather have 2 feet of snow instead!  But, I pray everyone who has to be on the roads are extra cautious for themselves and for others! Me... I am staying at home! It's going to be a great day to sew, sew, sew!! I do have Christmas presents to work on, not to mention charity quilts! Though, they are always a constant activity for me! I do need to work on the PIG (Project In a Grocery sack) that was sent to me to finish... That MUST be done by January 1st!! Always something to do here!

I did go & buy 1 Christmas present yesterday... for Dennis. We usually do not exchange between us. Our normal has been getting something for the house or something we both can use. I am not fully convinced that this gift will stay, or be returned to the store before Christmas... we'll see.  Dennis would like it & use it, but... I haven't decided. The other gifts will come eventually! I don't have a clue as to what they may be. I still need to get the Christmas cards done & out in the mail! Somehow, I have gotten out of my routine to have them in the mail on Black Friday... I'll need to work on that next year!

Hope everyone's Christmas preparations are going well!

I am talking about the race to get things done before Christmas!! I have decorating, baking, sewing, and food preparations to do!! Oh yeah... almost forgot about the shopping for gifts! Oh yeah... AND the Christmas Cards... this list could go on forever, if I really sat & thought about it!!! But, I don't have that kind of time... so time to get off the computer and get busy!! Time is a-wasting!

Have  great day!

Keep Christ in CHRISTMAS! Because... He is the Reason for the Season!!!
